Marriott Marquis San Diego
If you`re looking for a beautiful downtown San Diego wedding venue then take a look at the Marriott Marquis. It has a beautiful facility regarding the ball rooms, but it also boasts a central oasis like tropical pool area, a terrace that overlooks the San Diego bay, and it`s walking distance to Seaport Village. You can also walk to the harbor bay front for more photos, so you`ve got many choices regarding where to have your photos.
Our couple for this wedding had their ceremony at the Greek Orthedox church on Park Ave, by Balboa Park. We will never forget this ceremony thanks to a deranged homeless person interrputing the ceremony trying to ask for money. One of my photographers was up at the front of the church capturing face shots, another was up above capturing shots of the entire venue, while I was in back doing some wide fish eye shots. I was clossst to him as the homeless man entered the church so I quickly ran to him and asked him to kindly leave since this was a private and special moment for the bride and groom. The guy didn`t want to leave and he kept asking for a dollar. At this point the ceremony stopped, and everyone was staring at me and this homeless guy trying to enter the ceremony area. So I did what I had to do and picked him up and carried him outside. I appologized and gave him a dollar and then quickly returned to the ceremony. Upon my return there was a bit of applause before we got back to the wedding!
After the ceremony we went to Balboa Park for their fun and romantic photos starting at the Organ Pavillion. After we were done we returned to the Marriott Marquis for their reception and for the rest of the evening I was referred to as the wedding photographer/personal security to the bride…
From that wedding on I always keep and extra couple of bucks in my pocket in case I need to ask a homeless person to help us out.
