Omni Hotel San Diego and Our Lady of Rosary Church
This was an extreamly fun wedding with actual friends of ours! We know most of the catering and sales staff at the San Diego Omni, so when I was asked to to be the wedding photographer I was honored and thrilled.
The bridal preparations we done at the Omni Hotel San Diego, and the bride was in the presidential suite, also know as the Carter suite. The hotel is a baseball themed hotel thanks to it’s proximity to Petco Park, well in the presidential suite there is the actual contract from the Yankees for Babe Ruth along with the photos of him signing it. Way awesome!
The wedding ceremony was in downtown San Diego at Our Lady of the Rosary. Even though they do not allow flash (like most churches) we were able to get many tender and fun shots of the bride and groom looking and interacting with each other.
After the ceremony and family photos at the church the happily married couple got into a classic car limo and drove to Cabrillo National Monument. There we photographed lots of fun bridesmaids and groomsmen photos and romantic portraits with just the bride and groom. I really enjoy photographing wedding photos at Cabrillo National Monument at the end of Point Loma, there are so many spots for romantic and breath taking backgrounds and sceens.
After we finished with the photos we then made our way over to the Omni San Diego for their wedding reception. Basically, the time we spent at Cabrillo National Monument were the last bit of peace and quiet the couple was going to have. At their reception at the Omni there was nothing but music, dancing, and friends and family having a great time with them. The most memorable moment that I remember was the bride doing a tequilla shot for the first time, I was there with my camera, and was able to capture a great multi shot sequence. Let’s just say that she won’t be drinking it again anytime soon… 😉
